Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why should I have my carpets professionally cleaned?
A: Our restorative cleaning removes soils, allergens, pollutants, and dust mites and leaves your carpet soft to the touch.

Q: How often should I get my carpets cleaned?
A: Carpet mills and manufacturers recommend doing a restorative cleaning, on an average, once every 12-18 months.

Q: If I clean my carpet with a rental machine, will I get the same results?
A: No. Studies have shown that the recovery rate of water and soil on a rental machine is approximately 15%.  Our restorative cleaning has a recovery rate as high as 97-98%, depending upon carpet fibers.  Also, our Butler truck-mounted equipment produces more water pressure, suction and higher temperature water than a rental machine.

Q: What do I do with my furniture while my carpets are being cleaned?
A: In most cases, we only ask that our clients remove the small breakable items from their cleaning areas.  Large furniture is moved by our cleaning technicians and replaced after cleaning in a similar location.  We can also clean your furniture, using state-of-the-art techniques designed for specific fabrics and fiber materials.

Q: What are the items left under the legs of my furniture after my carpets are cleaned?
A: We place either plastic tabs or Styrofoam blocks under your furniture to help prevent rust or wood staining on your freshly cleaned carpet.  These items are easily removed by the client after the carpet is dry.

Q: How long does it take for my carpet to dry after it has been cleaned?
A: Drying times vary depending upon the type of carpet fiber and climate conditions.  In most cases, our clients’ carpets are dry within 1-4 hours.

Q: How do I know if I need my furnace ducts cleaned?
A: There are certain indicators that may help you determine the frequency of how often you need your ducts cleaned such as:  the amount of dust you see in your home, the accumulation of dust on your intake grates, and the appearance of filtration lines on the edges of your carpets.

Q: How often do I need my furnace ducts cleaned?
A: Most houses require their ducts cleaned about once every 10 years.  However, the frequency of ductwork maintenance, such as changing your filters on a regular basis, is a key factor in determining how often they need to be cleaned.

Q: Does every water damage require the demolition of interior walls and floor furnishings?
A: No.  We use some of the most advanced drying techniques, equipment and procedures in the industry, allowing us to save the integrity of residential and commercial structures.

Q: Can soot and odors ever really be removed from a fire/smoke damage?
A: Yes.  Advancements in cleaning agents and current techniques of odor control has allowed us to become very successful in the removal of fire/smoke by-products.
